About the owner:
I have been a pocket and carom player since the late 50's. Along the way, I fell in love with cues. That led to trading, swapping, buying and selling cues, particularly carom. With the advent of the Internet, the availability and search ability for carom related products proliferated. A common theme told me by carom enthusiasts is that, while the information and products might be out there, it's not in a concise repository or necessarily easy to find. That, coupled with the coupled with the advice that I had better register my cue trading zeal, carombilliards.com was formed. We want to try and give back a little something to a hobby that has given me so much happiness - and frustration!
 

How we and other companies of ours were formed:
Internet Consultants of Springfield, one of our other companies, deals with Internet development. When you combine the hobby of billiards with the ability to produce award-winning Internet sites, the service of carombilliards.com was a natural course. The hobby of ham radio fostered a life-long career in television and media - internet development was a natural extension. Starting to play the five string banjo in 1963 led to an adjunctive avocation of professional musician, 26 years with the famous Illinois Country Opry and then to banjopicker.com - a retail on-line music supply site. So, hobbies, for us, seem to turn into work!

Giving back:
Giving back is a large part of what we’re personally all about. Free programming AND hosting is provided to not-for-profit organizations, on a selective and needs-assement basis. The Animal Protective League of Springfield Illinois finds homes for hundreds of pets a year through a web site programmed and hosted by us - www.springfield-illinois.com/apl .
The Children’s Miracle Network serves Southern Illinois University School of Medicine’s Children’s Programs and St. John’s Childern’s Hospital - www.springfield-illinois.com/cmn We also are members of St. Paul’s Lodge 500 AF&AM, Valley of Springfield Consistory and Ansar Shrine. These fraternal organizations benefit the Illinois Masonic Children’s Home, Dyslexia Learning Centers and Burn/Orthopaedics Centers with 13 North American hospitals respectively.
